covid thanksgiving thoughts.

thanksgiving is going to look different for a lot of us this year. my husband and i planned to travel a few hours south (by car, & with no restroom stops) to be with our families since we’ve all been staying home and quarantining. however, life happens and i ended up having to see a doctor face-to-face, thus ending my quarantine. since all our parents are high risk, and any exposure is NOT worth it to any of us, we’ll be staying home and having a small thanksgiving for two.

this decision was a sad one, but not a hard one. with the covid numbers rising across our nation, and especially here in florida, we know it’s best for us to stay home. just. in. case. so now we’re throwing together a semi last-minute thanksgiving grocery delivery order, calling the parents for those recipes we can’t live without.

covid has changed so much for so many of us this year…. a year in which we were all SO hopeful would be an amazing one because it was 2020. my heart breaks for those who have lost loved ones to this pandemic. it also breaks for those who aren’t taking this seriously and continuing to spread it around.

lets bring some love and light and positivity to the home stretch of 2020! WEAR A MASK. STAY HOME, if you are able to. and most definitely stay a minimum of 6ft apart if you have to be out and about. lets show more care and concern and love for one another as we kick off the holiday season, friends. and on thanksgiving morning, you’ll find me at home, on my couch, sipping coffee out of my Today Show mug, watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC. typical. xo- Kyoko
